Nobody likes to have severe cellulite anywhere on their bodies. In fact, it still remains one of the most prevalent complaints amongst women across the world. Many factors can contribute to this ‘cottage cheese’ like appearance, namely the collagen structures just beneath the skin and often, genetics. So, you can thank your mum, grandma and even their ancestors for those dimpled thighs! But before you take the plunge into laser cellulite removal, there are a few things you can do to improve natural cellulite reduction.

Build Muscle

Although cellulite can appear on people of any size or shape, it is at its route, still a form of fat, so building lean muscle can help to reduce the appearance of this orange peel skin. Incorporate weight training into workouts to burn off fat stores and replace them with muscle tissue for a smoother, more toned appearance.

Raise Your Heart Rate

Doing some cardio should be part of day to day life for everybody, but especially if you have cellulite and could do with shifting a few pounds. Cellulite can often be caused and accentuated by poor blood flow, so by raising your heart rate you can both increase blood flow and shift unwanted fat.

Eat More Vegetables

Ensuring that you’re getting plenty of whole grains and fibres helps to remove toxins and waste from the body, contributing to a more even skin tone and smoother surface skin.

Toxins in the body can also cause inflammation of cells beneath the surface of the skin, gathering in ‘lymphatic fluid’. Practising self-massage can help to with the drainage of this fluid, thus banishing toxins and reducing those dreaded dimples!

Although all of these routines can be beneficial to the appearance of cellulite, there’s no solution as effective as our laser reduction treatment. For more information about our severe cellulite treatment or find a doctor to help click here.
